What can we tell you about our stay at Summit Lake. It was wonderful. We make it our hub and traveled out everyday, to Seward, Kenai, and Homer. Came back to a great meal, wonderful staff and nice clean quite room. Their homemade pies are terrific! Stay there if you can. Minnesota

JUNE 10th - JULY 31st for Sockeye Salmon
JULY 15th - September 1st for Silver Salmon

Undoubtedly one of our most enjoyable packages. You'll experience the thrill of flying to the west side of Cook Inlet to Redoubt Bay from our floatplane base in Soldotna. 10,000 foot volcanoes can be seen on either side of the plane as you descend to the lake where our guide will load you into one of our 18 foot boats to begin your salmon fishing and bear viewing day in Alaska. The guide provides spinning rods & reels, the fishing tackle for Sockeye or Coho salmon, rain gear, hip boots and bug repellant if needed. If everyone in the boat agrees (about 4 people), we'll take a mid-day break to view a beautiful waterfall while grilling up a salmon on the Hibachi in the boat, then return for more fishing and bear viewing. Beavers, otters, ducks, loons, swans and Bald eagles also inhabit the area and both black bears and Brown bears will fish for salmon although not at the same time.

Fly-in Fishing

"It was so much fun. Beautiful scenery. And no other people around."

During most of the summer we specialize in grayling (up to 22 inches), and rainbow trout (up to 24 inches). During the last half of August, we fly out for fresh silver salmon (up to 16 pounds). Though we cannot always promise fish, we will only take you to the places where our guests have been catching fish recently. We offer lure fishing equipment, along with hip boots. Ask about guided fly-in fishing.

Whitewater River Rafting

bear

This is Alaska’s premier Whitewater raft trip, and one of the best in North America. There are three canyons, each progressively more challenging, with narrow routes, steep drops, beautiful pools, and adrenaline pumping rapids all in a gorgeous semi-rain forest. We offer two trip options: The 2 Canyon Run with predominately class IV rapids or The 3 Canyon Run which includes class V rapids in the third and final canyon. Both trips include a fun river swim before the start and the popular swim after the rapids! All river gear provided including full dry-suits to wear over your clothing. Under permit with Chugach National Forest for 26 years.

River Float Trips

This trip is great for the whole family. Enjoy a leisurely, 3-hour Alaska float trip down the turquoise waters of the Kenai River. Your guide will take you through one of Alaska's most beautiful areas, home to eagles, moose, Dall sheep and bears. Bask in the views and enjoy the rhythm of the river. Choose from morning, afternoon and evening Alaska river rafting trips. Suitable for all ages.

Flightsee Trips

bear

"This is what you'll talk about after you've forgotten the boat ride!" Passengers just rave about their flight with us! They like their pilot because our pilots make it fun, entertaining, and informative. Our pilots love flying over this land as much as the passengers do. They tell me they never get bored. "A photograph around every corner!" The glacier-carved, steep-walled valleys which open up into wide expanses with turquoise lakes are fantastic --- and then around the next corner a massive ice field! --- or a drop off into a deep fjord!

"Like flying in a National Geographic Special!"

In the past the lodge operated for 18 years as an all season lodge. Summit Lake is an especialy magical place in the fall and there is nothing like a landsape blanketed in deep snow.

Operate the lodge as a summer only business or year-round.
